This Summer, Music Brings Kids To Life!

5/1/2015

Children are naturally drawn to music, and music provides the framework for maximizing their potential at every stage of development. Additionally, music crosses cultural boundaries and fosters social and educational development. This summer, music will bring any child to life, from birth to school age. The best way to incorporate music into your summer is through a music camp that enables you to bring music into your home. The whole family benefits, and the time invested in camp multiplies, as your children make music together all summer long.

One parent wrote “All the songs, stories, and activities took music out of the classroom and into our summer play. My son told me just this week that music is everywhere and in everything...and I think he’s right!”

Musikgarten is offering camps for all ages this summer: for babies, My Musical World helps you build a special bond with your child through music. “As a new mother, I have really enjoyed being with other mothers and learning more ways to interact with our babies. Music is showing us the way.”

Toddlers love to be active, and summer is the best time to enjoy nature together. Nature’s Music provides music and movement through family activities rooted in the sounds and actions of nature. “My daughter’s at a very active age, so I have not been surprised by how much she’s enjoyed all the movement in this class. What has amazed me though is how she is learning to listen and focus her energy. Music is doing this for her.”

Activities for 3 and 4 year olds need to make room for their expanding horizons, and there’s no better time than summer to introduce your child to the many sounds and movements in nature. Summer Fun provides all this, with enough activities to keep preschoolers busy for hours! “This was by far our son’s favorite summer activity. He loved learning and I’ve never seen him so focused – it was the music that brought this whole new world to life!”

Older children are ready to spend time with their peers, learning together and expanding their inquisitive horizons. My Habitat, for 4-7 yr olds, allows parents to drop off their children and return later, while the children learn to appreciate their community and compare it with other habitats in nature. “I can’t think of anything more important than giving children a sense of community – and music does this so well!”

If your family includes more than one preschool child, you will know the challenges of finding age-appropriate activities to enjoy together. Nimble & Quick (birth to 4) provides a wide span of fun-filled content that benefits children and parents alike, giving families a relaxed environment in which to enjoy one another. “This class has captured all the fun of summer and given our family new ways to spend time together.”
